With five decades spent in Charlotte County, Jeannine possesses an intimate understanding of its people, their vulnerabilities, and its vibrant history. Growing up and residing in Punta Gorda, she has witnessed the city’s evolution firsthand.

Empowering Punta Gorda Citizens

The citizens of Punta Gorda have raised their voices against the Comprehensive Plan, foreseeing its detrimental impact, especially on the downtown historic district. Jeannine stands with the people, opposing high-density developments, minimal parking requirements, zero setbacks, and increased building heights dictated by the Urban Planning Department in the name of progress.

Fiscal Responsibility

Punta Gorda residents have felt the burden of skyrocketing taxes over the past two years, despite a substantial increase in taxable values. Jeannine advocates for transparency and accountability, challenging our leaders’ decision to maintain a millage rate of 3.95 mills for 2024, despite the city’s economic growth.

Prioritizing Community Needs

While the city allocates $16 million for a City Hall remodel and expansion, vital infrastructure crumbles, leaving our streets flooded and our water systems aging. Jeannine believes in prudent spending that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of the people.

Jeannine recognizes the importance of transparency in governance. She pledged to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, advocating for leaders who prioritize the community’s interests over personal gain.
